How true is the story now gaining traction on social media that Justice Haruna Tsammani who declared President Bola Tinubu winner of the last presidential election has lost his sight?

This is the big question that discerning platforms are seeking credible answers on.

It follows a lot information and gists mostly on online media saying that the judge was losing his sight following complications during an eye surgery in London.

Although the news has not been confirmed by any credible source, yet, it is gaining traction online.

The increasing interest on such piece of information should not be a big surprise nonetheless, given both society’s gullibility, the clout of the individuals concerned as well as the fact that next presidential election is around the corner.

Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani Abubakar is reportedly blind following complications during an eye surgery in London, according to reports”.

No official confirmation has followed such insinuations.

However, The Eagle recalls that all five members of the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja, had in 2023, unanimously affirmed Bola Tinubu as the validly elected President of Nigeria.

The assertion came in the midst of misgivings and insinuations trailing the conduct of the elections

An over-12-hour-long judgement was delivered the panel of judges led by Haruna Tsammani and it dismissed all three petitions challenging Mr Tinubu’s election in his lead judgment.

Other members of the panel included:

  1. Stephen Adah,
  2. Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf
  3. Moses Ugo, and
  4. Abbah Mohammed

The petitions had been filed within three weeks of the declaration of Mr Tinubu as the winner of the 25 February presidential election on 1 March 2023.

The Eagle stands for a better Nigerian society, and advises the reading public to treat sensitive reporting like this with caution.
