The Senatorial Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for Oyo Central Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has pledged full support for an ongoing construction of a community police station in Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.
Ajadi has also described improved security as foundation for economic growth, investment and peaceful coexistence.
The politician spoke during an inspection visit of the project alongside the Officer-in-Charge of Works (OC Works), CSP Adeniji Opeyemi, who represented the Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga of the Oyo State Police Command.
The visit was at the instance of the Member representing Oluyole Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo.
“Security is the bedrock of meaningful developments.
“When communities are secure, businesses flourish, investors gain confidence and people go about their daily activities without fear.
“These are why I am committed to supporting the construction of this police station”, Ajadi stated.
According to him, the project woulkd strengthen law enforcement across the Muslim and Mosfala communities, as well as other adjoining areas in Oluyole Local Government, making the environment safer for residents, businesses and investors.
“This police station will serve as a strong warning to thugs and other criminal elements who have been terrorising the Muslim and Mosfala communities and neighbouring areas. Once law enforcement has a stronger presence here, criminal activities will reduce drastically and our people will enjoy greater peace.
“Many financial institutions and investors consider security before making investment decisions. With a standard police station in this axis, we expect more enterprises, businesses and other economic activities to come into these communities, creating employment opportunities and improving the local economy,” he said.
The Eagle reports that the structure was initially erected through community efforts and Hon. Waheed Akintayo, with Ambassador Ajadi assuring that he would replace the roofing, complete the plastering of the walls, flooring, tiling, fencing and painting, before fully equipping it.
All of these would be done before the 2027 general elections, he assured.
Earlier, Hon. Waheed Akintayo said the inspection marked another milestone in his determination to strengthen security infrastructure within Oluyole Constituency through collaboration with critical stakeholders.

He commended Ajadi for identifying with the project despite not holding an elective office, describing his intervention as a demonstration of purposeful leadership and genuine commitment to community development.
“It is always encouraging to see men of vision and public-minded leadership take a genuine interest in projects that directly impact the lives of the people. This visit demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening our security architecture and improving public safety,” Akintayo said.
The lawmaker noted that, when completed, the police station would enhance police response time, improve intelligence gathering, strengthen community policing and contribute significantly to the protection of lives and property across the constituency.
Oluyole Local Government Area is one of the eleven local government areas that make up Oyo Central Senatorial District, which Ajadi is seeking to represent in the Senate.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that the collaboration between the state lawmaker, the police authorities and the APM senatorial candidate would accelerate the completion of the project and provide a lasting solution to security challenges in the affected communities.
