Graham Potter, the former manager of Chelsea, reportedly declined the offer to assist Jordan Henderson in resolving the concerning situation at Ajax, a Dutch powerhouse.

The Eredivisie team parted ways with Maurice Steijn in October 2023, and they are still looking for a new permanent manager. After that, John van’t Schip took temporary over as leader, but he hasn’t been able to turn things around very successfully.

With former Liverpool captain Henderson now on their roster, Ajax recently lost to archrivals Feyenoord 6-0, setting a new record. Prior to that, they had been eliminated from the Europa League following a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa.

Sky Sports claims that Potter, the former manager of Brighton and Chelsea, has been contacted for a significant coaching position in Amsterdam. There are rumours that Potter had talks, but decided not to go back to coaching at this time after being fired at Stamford Bridge in April 2023.

Manchester United is reportedly still considering the 48-year-old as they consider their options about Erik ten Hag. This implies that rather than taking over the Johan Cruyff Arena rebuilding project, Old Trafford may shortly undergo reconstruction.
