Dumped By Fiancée For Being Too Fat, Crowned Beauty Queen

Life they say is a teacher, and sometimes, the things that make us moan and groan are actually sent to prepare us for a glory that lies ahead

That’s probably the best way to summaries the life of Jen Atkin, 26 from Grimsby, Northeast Lincolnshire. The story isn’t a totally new one, having happened last month, but its morals remain ever relevant.

..Not the kind of weight that beauty queens are made of

She was dumped by a man she loved much and dreamt of spending the rest of her life with, and the reason was that she was too fat.

It was in March 2011 that they met and then, she weighed 92kg. and then she began to add more weitht reaching 112 kg in a short while hence.

The man was not pleased and decided to call off the relationship.

She recalls:  “The day he left I thought my world had ended. I cried for weeks and used food as my comfort. I was devastated but it ended up being the best thing that’s happened to me.” she said.

Devastated and emotionally lonely, the young lady decided to busy up, and that made all the difference. What caught her fancy was joining a local gym

The commitment was as amazing as the result in that she dropped nearly half her usual body weight. By the time the calls for Miss Great Britain was made, she responded without looking back.

She won, becoming Miss Great Britain 2020!.

By that singular feat, she knocked off all negative insinuations bothering on feminine beauty and panache, inevitably grabbing the coveted tag of Britain’s most beautiful woman.

She was to say later:

“I’m still in shock at winning.

I’m so happy I can’t even put it into words – I honestly can’t believe it.

When I started doing this it was just for a bit of fun. I never imagined how far I would come.

Winning Miss Great Britain marks the end of a long and difficult, but also amazing, journey,” she said.

“I got to a size 22 and my favorite dress didn’t fit anymore and I knew I had to change!”

“A few years ago, if someone had told me I’d be Miss Great Britain I’d have never believed it!”
