Dortmund Make Final Mason Greenwood Transfer Decision

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly ruled themselves out of the running for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood in the summer transfer window.

One of the teams reportedly showing interest in the one-cap England international is the Bundesliga powerhouses. He won Player of the Season at Getafe during his successful loan period there in 2023–2024.

Greenwood is likely to permanently cut his links with parent club United. It doesn’t appear that he will be able to return to Old Trafford, and top teams from throughout Europe, as well as a few in the Premier League, are closely monitoring his situation.

Dortmund was rumoured to be among those interested parties, but following internal talks, the German powerhouses are prepared to abandon any possible recruitment rush. Regarding the current rumours, Bundesliga analyst Kevin Hatchard stated: “There are conflicting reports regarding BVB’s interest in Mason Greenwood this week.” The MUFC attacker was reportedly mentioned at one point, but Borussia Dortmund has decided not to pursue a deal for him this summer.

Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli, among others, may consider formally expressing their interest now that Dortmund appears to be out of the picture. Since Greenwood is still bound by his Manchester contract, any deal for him will not be cheap, and it is unclear if anyone is willing to pay the amount he is demanding.
