What is the black market Dollar to Naira exchange rate today January 29, 2024?

The Eagle reports that the parallel trading market (black market) operators in Lagos, Abuja and Kano are trading Dollar to Naira at N1420/$ today, January 29, 2024.

The local currency further slumped against the USD as Sunday’s session settled at N1415/$.

The buying rate is N1415/$ in Lagos, and trades the same in Abuja and Kano respectively, while the selling rate is N1420/$ in some parts in the states.

At the Peer2Peer (P2P) trading exchange, the local currency fell to commence trade at N1430/$ against N1425/$ it traded yesterday.

Meanwhile, the domestic currency appreciated 1.02% to close at N891.90 to a dollar at the close of business on Friday.

Data from the NAFEM where forex is officially traded revealed.     This represents a N9.06 gain or a 1.02% increase in the local currency compared to the N900.96 closed on Thursday.      

According to data obtained from the official NAFEM window, forex turnover at the close of the trading was $100.97 million, representing a 12.35% decrease compared to the previous day.
