Dear Editor, Disturbing Lawlessness Is Bedeviling Our Neigbourhood
It is pertinent to share the growing but disturbing lawlessness that has been bedeviling our once peaceful neighborhoods.
This disturbing lawlessness is perpetrated by street urchins who have turned an undeveloped parcel of land, at No. 6 Brick Field Street, Apapa Road, Ebute Metta West, to a Marijuana (weeds) smoking field among other social vices.
This impunity, is done just a stone throw from people’s apartments .
I must add that, so disturbing because the elders of the community seem to have become too nonchalant about the whole thing.
This is proven by their failure to take drastic action by way of inviting the security operatives to raid and arrest them (the urchins) and probably seal the fenced land.
Even calls for a townhall meeting to arrive at a common ground that would give express nod to the decision (of inviting security operatives) fall on deaf ears.
Perhaps, this is for fear of the boys. or worse still, some of the boys must have been their relatives one way or the other.
The land owners too are not in any way helping matters, hence we are crying loud through your medium with a wider coverage to support our calls towards finding lasting remedies that would lead to containing these hydra-headed monsters.
There are already enough social vices to, and we do not want more negative influences for our children
