Arteta Point Out When Title Race Will Be Decided

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes the Premier League title race with Liverpool and Manchester City will go down to the last day of the season.

Arsenal is one point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s team, and three points separate league leaders Liverpool and the reigning Premier League winners Manchester City. With eight games left, the fight for the championship is too close to predict, and Gunners manager Arteta believes all three teams will have a chance to win the league on the last day of play.

He told reporters: “This is the level and it’s been the level in this league for the past six or seven years. The margins are so small, let’s see those numbers at the end of the last game and hopefully if those are maintained, I think we have a good chance. We’re still not at the top and we have to transform that into winning and winning and winning, and that’s the only way to have the chance in the last game of the season to do it.”

The Spaniard added: “I don’t know what is going to happen but it is very unlikely that everybody wins every game. You look back a what happened in previous seasons and it is very, very unlikely – but you don’t know. Let’s do everything we possibly can. Don’t leave anything left and play with the same enthusiasm and hunger and quality, and let’s see where it takes us.”

Guardiola is keen to add to his five league wins in the English top division, while Jurgen Klopp is hoping to finish his tenure as Reds manager on a high note. Arsenal is aiming to win their first Premier League crown since 2004. Nothing could be more at stake.
