The bad portion of road in Obadeyi  bus stop, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos, along Lagos Abeokuta express way, has continued to record accidents usually leading to loss of thousands of naira in goods or vehicular spoilages.

In early hours of last Saturday, two trailors tumbled on the slanting portion of the road, and although the accident did not have any casualty, it resulted in traffic gridlock along the axis.

Speaking with our reporter on the incident, Mr Adebayo Adedoyin ,a commercial driver who plies the route, expressed displeasure with the current state of the road, saying government had totally forgotten the area.

He further explained that a minimum of 10 heavy duty vehicles tumble on a weekly basis due to the deplorable state of the road and that this has led to increase in travel time for road users.

As at the time of filing this report, officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Nigeria Police were at the scene of the incident to ensure free flow of traffic.

Efforts by our correspondent to track the concerned drivers for their part of what happened did not yield results.

However, the  incident had once again underscored the need for government to act fast on the situation of the road in order to avert a reoccurrence of incidents of this nature.
