AC Milan have been named the fastest growing club in Europe for the third year in a row by a new report.

According to a Football Benchmark analysis titled The European Elite 2024, the San Siro team has had a successful few years, with revenue rising dramatically and their fan base expanding quickly.

AC Milan has increased by 35% year over year, according to Football Benchmark’s analysis of the top 32 teams in the continent. That percentage rises to 163% over the course of the last eight seasons, surpassing that of any other European team. Over the past five years, operating revenues have grown by 84%, and matchday revenues have more than doubled in the most recent year, which is a notable improvement.

The Rossoneri have gone to great lengths to invest in their future, too. They have invested more than any other team in Italy over the last three years, the report says, with €191.1 million (£163m/$207m) net being spent on improving their senior squad.

The Serie A team, which took home the Scudetto in 2022–2023, had qualified for the Champions League four times running and made it all the way to the semi-finals the previous year. They came in second place, 19 points behind Inter, in the Italian top division this season. With players like Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao driven to restore glory to the team, they will look to build on their successful season again the following year.
