Multi-award winner and Executive Secretary in the Lagos State Office Of Diaspora Affairs, Dr Jermaine Sanwo-olu, be speaking today at the 47th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Society of International Law (NSIL).
The event which brings together learned Indi duals both from the law community and the wider Nigerian society would be holding at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.
He would be speaking from a paper titled: “From Obligations to Implementation: Localising International Migration Governance: The Role of Lagos State as a Subnational Implementation Partner”.
A lifetime member of the Society, who I s passionate about inspiring and informing people to live life to the fullest, he would indeed be speaking to a topic is closely connected to his work in diaspora engagement, international relations, diplomacy and migration.
Sanwo-olu, a recipient of The Eagle gold award, would be exploring how international migration commitments can translate into practical programmes that improve lives, particularly in Lagos.
Very enthusiastic about the engagement, he told our correspondent in a short interaction:
“I’m encouraged by our ongoing engagement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), as we work to address migration and reintegration needs.
