It was just a single blow and now, it has sent a former chef to lawmakers to the great beyond.
Kamau Mungai Gathogo had been involved in a domestic altercation at her residence in Ongata Rongai, which led to a lethal stab on his chest and resultant serious injuries.
When police, responding to a distress call arrived the scene they found Mungai lying with serious injuries.
He was immediately rushed to Saitoti Hospital for emergency treatment before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Nairobi for specialised treatment.
Reports on the incident said the former chef though rushed to hospital succumbed to his injuries.
Ongata Rongai OCPD Benjamin Kiprono said: “When the police visited the scene, they found him lying in his room. He was rushed to Saitoti Hospital and then referred to Kenyatta Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries,”

Reports referencing preliminary investigation said the attacker allegedly visited the deceased’s home and attacked with a kitchen knife found within the house.
It was just a fight that went too far. I can confirm that there was a single stab wound on the left side of the chest, which may have injured a vital organ,” Kiprono revealed.
Police have since arrested one suspect who remains in custody pending arraignment in court, with the police boss stating that they are still investigating the suspect’s background, as little is known about their prior history.
