Marwa Names Greatest Opponents Of The NDLEA

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA),  Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd) has named the greatest opponents of the NDLEA.

He said these category of people were indeed undermining the agency’s dream of containing trade and deal in illicit drugs in the country.

Marwa, a no-nonsense former military administrator of Lagos, just got reappointed in the office, and has vowed to deal decisively with all those standing on the way of his all-out success.

established the Alternative Development Unit, which seeks to persuade those who are perpetrating the illicit drug activities to stop.

According to him, the greatest opponents are cannabis growers, and he has been wooing the to desist from their way.

The agency, he stated was ready to support them if they heed entreaties.

“We are going to support towards licit cultivation of crops that are legitimate, legal, and you can sleep with your two eyes closed.

“But those who refuse to do that can be sure that the NDLEA is up and able on its task of law enforcement.

“You will be arrested, the drugs will be seized, and your assets will be confiscated. “So, you come out from jail, there will be nothing left”, he warned.

The Eagle reports that  Buba Marwa had before now, served as governor of Lagos State from 1996 to 1999 when late General Sani Abacha was military head of State.

Before then, he had been military governor of Borno State from 1990 to 1992 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.
