Neigbours, friends and relations are in shock as a wedding scheduled to take place this weekend has been cancelled.

What could have led to this?

The wedding has been called off following cheating and physical abuse allegations from both ends.  Malawi24 reports.

There has seen a press statement on social media where the man is accusing the woman of infidelity, and a counter from the bride’s family alleging physical abuse.

“The forthcoming wedding between Dennis Mzumara and Tionge Chiulika which was scheduled to take place on 24 September 2022 has been cancelled.

“The wedding has been cancelled for the sole reason [of infidelity]. It is with great difficulty that I write this message informing all our friends and family of this decision”, reads the statement which appears to have been authored by Dennis’ side.

The platform could not however, independently verify the authenticity of the press release.

But another account said though Tionge was scheduled to wed with Denis she was flitting with Andrew Mhango, her workmate at Mzuzu High Court.

The source newsngr citing a statement, said the relationship of the two dates back from 2018, and that some well-wishers who were aware of the relationship of Andrew and Tionge notified Mzumara who later reported it to the Pastor.

Upon interrogation, Tionge admitted to have been in sexual relationship with Andrew Mhngo who is also married.

The admission forced parents of Tionge to pull out of the wedding preparations hence the wedding cancellation.

It adds however, Tionge’s family has shot back, saying the wedding has been called off because of gender based violence.
