59 Years Ondo Man, But Guess What Gave Him Out

It is believed in some quarters that prudence lies with old age, but not so with this 59 year old Ondo man.

Not only was he culpable over a case of stolen vehicle, he was not even prudent trying to obtain his share of the illegal deal: he was overhead arguing with someone over the phone, the non-remittance of the proceeds from the stolen vehicle.

This was after the vehicle had found itself in far-away Kano.

Someone, on overhearing the unholy dialogue quickly alerted the police and that was how the Ondo man, 59 year-old Adetokunbo Adeojo was nabbed.

Police report said he indulged in the act at Igoba in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police, Funmilayo Odunlami- Omisanya, revealed these much in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Akure.

According to Odunlami-Omisanya, it was on the August 21, 2023, that the Almera Nissan car was stolen by unknown thieves.

She added that police swung into action and quickly arrested the suspect who later confessed that the vehicle was stolen from Akure and taken to Kano

“But they were unable to sell because the buyer insisted on the original copies of the car documents, while they were trying to forge the document in Kaduna.

“The Police at Tafa Division Kaduna were informed and his partner Felix Edward ‘m’ 37years was arrested while he escaped.

“Meanwhile, the other suspect has been handed over to the Command while the third suspect whom he had argument with is currently at large,” police said

In a related case, Odunlami-Omisanya said that the command also arrested two suspected cultists, Mayokun Olamide, male aged 27years and Pelumi Folorunsho also aged 26years in possession of illegal firearm.

From police reports, information came that the suspected cultists were hiding in Mayowa area of Akure, and that immediately men of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, upon being alerted, stormed the area and arrested the two suspects.
