A Councilor and Leader of the Eti-Osa Local Government Legislative Body, Hon. Muftau Ogunderu has reached out to people in his constituency via edible items and cash.
The gesture to his ward members in the spirit of Christmas and New Year celebration.
The Councilor, who is serving as the representative of the people of ward E at Eti-Osa Local Government, gave 200 live chicken, 100 cartons of power oil and cash to people in ward E.
Ogunderu told the people of his ward on Christmas Morning, December 25, 2019, when disbursing the give-away items, that it was just to show appreciation and to also create a memorable gesture of the festive season among the follwership and the leadership of his ward.
“This is a period of giving; showing love and cares to the less privileged ones,” He said. “Visiting the home of those who have things in abundance is also a sign of appreciation for their political supports in the past.”
He said 3 months ago, under his supervision, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Saheed Bankole organised vocational training were some youths from the ward were impacted.
According to him, the empowerment scheme was to address the unemployment challenges which the youths face, and to make them self-sufficient.
“The areas of of our empowerment were learning of barbing, Information technology, fashion designing and acquisition of catering technology with the collection of certificate of satisfactory completion.”
Ogunderu further congratulated the people of Jakande Housing Estate for the successful election of the chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA), adding:”The new CDA Chairman, Mr. Kazeem Sulaiman, is a very close friend of mine; he is very close to the government; Jakande Estate is where I reside and it is part of my ward, so we will work together to make it great again,” he said
