Why Ziyech Move To PSG Collapse

Moroccan and Chelsea winger, Hakim Ziyech’s loan move to French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) collapsed due to the Blues sending the wrong documents.

According to Sky, PSG filed an appeal with the Professional Football League’s (LFP) legal committee, claiming that the Blues had delivered the wrong papers at first after the agreement was concluded.

Following that, Chelsea delivered the appropriate paperwork twice, but without the required signature, preventing the transfer from going ahead.

Ziyech was left stranded in Paris at the conclusion of the transfer deadline day by the time the Stamford Bridge organization sent the necessary papers, signature and all. The moment before the player’s official unveiling, after passing his medical exams, everything went wrong.

After difficult talks between the two clubs over several days, Chelsea confirmed on Wednesday that it has acquired Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a British transfer record fee of 106.8 million pounds ($131.46 million).

As the deadline day approached its end on Tuesday, it appeared a deal might not be reached but a statement from Benfica confirmed that it had been done shortly before 2300 GMT.

The World Cup champion’s new Premier League team, Chelsea, made the announcement on Wednesday via a video posted to Twitter that featured a clock and the phrase “race against time to sign him.”

According to a statement from Benfica, Chelsea will cover the 22-year-contract old’s release cost after he committed to an eight-and-a-half-year contract with the London club.

Chelsea has now spent about 300 million pounds on transfers in January alone, and more than 500 million pounds overall since being acquired by an investor group led by American Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in May of last year.
