Why Senate Privatization Committee Was At Ikeja Electric

The premises of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IEDC) – Ikeja Electric was upbeat with activities earlier today, following the coming there of members of the Senate Committee on Privatisation.

The Committee members were accompanied by officials from the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

A release by the company sighted by our correspondent said the visit was for the committee to conduct an oversight function.

It said the senate committee was warmly received by the company’s  CEO, Mrs. Folake Soetan, and her team.

“During the visit, the IEDC team provided an overview of the company’s key achievements, focusing on its digital transformation strategy and technology roadmap.

“This initiative has been pivotal in enhancing the operations of the distribution company and positioning Ikeja Electric as the leading DISCO in Nigeria”, the post said.

It added that the delegation discussed the numerous challenges impacting electricity distribution company, along with other issues disrupting operations within the broader energy value chain.

“The committee members acknowledged these challenges and expressed their commitment to collaborating with Ikeja Electric to address the issues and find sustainable solutions”, it added.
