Why Ratcliffe’s Man United Takeover Has Not Been Confirmed 

A second delay has occurred in the announcement that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will acquire a quarter of the Glazer family’s Manchester United ownership.

The INEOS CEO is expected to join the Old Trafford boardroom shortly, marking the beginning of a new era for Manchester United. However, BBC Sport has reported that this week’s announcement has been rescheduled until next week.

BBC Sport explained that the original announcement was supposed to be completed during the November international break but it was put to the sidelines in part due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States where the Glazers are based.

It was then supposedly to go ahead this week but was put off yet again as a number of the club’s officials had travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to watch Manchester United take on Galatasaray with their Champions League hopes hanging in the balance. It is now expected that the announcement will be completed next week barring any surprise hurdles between the two parties.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are anticipated to unseat the Glazers from the sporting department and completely revamp the think tank’s organisational structure, as CEO Richard Arnold departed the organisation just last month. The search for a new sporting director has already prompted the leadership to consider Paul Mitchell, Dougie Freedman, and Michael Edwards, among other names.

The Red Devils have struggled on the pitch once more, and their supporters have been eagerly awaiting the formal news of the takeover. Men’s Champions League chances for Erik ten Hag are in shambles as they appear destined to relegate themselves to the Europa League. Regarding the Premier League, the Red Devils have made progress and will play their next game on Saturday, December 2, against Newcastle United.
