An All Progressives Congress, APC candidate in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Monday Okpebholo stands a risk of being sentenced to jail.
This would be at the behest of a coalition of civil society organisations under the aegis of the Network of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria.

The coalition, through a petition signed by its National Coordinator, Victor Kalu, and National Secretary, Ali Abacha, have in fact started the process of getting the APC candidate sentenced to jail.
It claimed that the lawmaker abused the naira, through mutilation citing the CBN Act of 2007, which declares such actions punishable.
