Villagers Panic After Cow Gives Birth To Two-Headed Calf

Villagers’ initial excitement at their cow giving birth has now turned to panic after the new birth turned out to be a two-headed calf.

The villagers, residents of Paiula Central Village, Tokoto Parish in Paiula Sub-County, Pader District, in Northern Uganda were shocked to behold the calf come out with two heads, four ears, and four eyes.

The strange incident which happened around 12:30 PM, saw curious villagers rushing to the scene to try to catch a glimpse themselves, unfortunately, the calf did not survive long after delivery, reports the Independent.

The newspaper quotes Paiula sub-county district councilor Mr. Balex Okello as saying that the calf got stuck inside the mother’s womb, forcing residents to intervene to enable its delivery.

“People were shocked. We’ve never seen such a thing happen here before,” he remarked.

Speaking of noting strange things before the delivery, the owner of the cow, Lawrence Kwoyelo stated:

“The cow became restless, lost weight, and its color changed.

“We were frightened when it gave birth to a calf with two heads,” he said, adding that villagers feared it was a curse.

However, veterinary doctor Dr. Boniface Olara has dismissed such fears over the bizarre birth, attributing it to a rare congenital disorder caused by incomplete cell division during pregnancy.

“This condition is purely biological, not a curse or bad omen,” Dr. Olara clarified.

Not many villagers were however convinced with the scientific explanation over the incident of a two-headed calf.
