Tuchel Leading Race To Replace Ten Hag Amid Southgate Links

Thomas Tuchel is the favourite to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United this summer, though England manager Gareth Southgate is also in the frame.

It is widely anticipated that Ten Hag will leave Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign, and United is considering potential successors. According to inews, Tuchel has become one of the front-runners and is expected to be excited to rejoin the Premier League following his departure from Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign.

While Tuchel is favoured by many at co-owners INEOS, they also have Southgate, Zinedine Zidane and Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann on their shortlist. However, those three have expressed serious concerns about taking the job given the problems that have plagued the club over the last decade.

United has had a terrible season despite making it to the FA Cup final this year under Ten Hag’s leadership. The 13 Premier League losses they have had this season—their most in a single season—came from their 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday.

Ten Hag’s team could play an important role in the Premier League title race this weekend as they come up against contenders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday. They then host Newcastle in the league three days later.
