Suspended pastor of the City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, has launched his own ministry.

A video of the inaugural service of the church held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, with members dancing joyously has gone viral online.

It had been preceded by an invitation on Instagram by Pastor Idowu Iluyomade thus: “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience.”

The Eagle reports that Iluyomade, formerly the senior pastor of City of David Parish, was suspended by RCCG last June after his wife, Pastor Siju, hosted an elaborate 60th birthday celebration.

The party stirred controversy, coming on the heels of the death of Herbert Wigwe, former CEO of Access Bank, along with his wife and son.

Wigwe had been an influential member of ministry, believed to have been one of its financial pillars.

RCCG reportedly suspended Idowu Iluyomade, through its governing council.
