A new task for the men of the Anambra Command of the Nigeria Police

Shocking things keep happening in our society these days, or how do you explain the story below.

It is the heart-rending story of a woman who just left her three children in front of the house just to bring them more food from inside, only to come out and find them missing.

The September 23, 2025 incident which involved children of Ages 6, 3 and 2 has left residents of Akwa village, Ihiala, Anambra State, where it happened in quandary.

How can just leaving the children she was giving food for a moment translate to their being kidnapped?

Although the police, through the assistance of youths, have arrested one male suspect, Charles Chiemerie Onuigbo, over the alleged case of abduction, his two other accomplices are still on the run.

The Anambra State police command in a statement today by its spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the arrested suspect is a neighbour who had been harbouring the two fleeing suspects whose identities are yet unknown.

“In view of the above, Charles was attacked and beaten by irate members of the community, sustaining injuries before being rescued by the Police,” he added.

Ikenga  said the case is under investigation and efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and rescue the missing children ongoing.

According to him, other parts of the state command have remained calm as counter-terrorism and other crime prevention operations continue.

It also recovered stolen items in separate operations across the state, in an operation conducted through the enhanced strategic positioning and security patrols emplacement.
