Security Men Battle Youths Trying To Stone Buhari’s Chopper

Security men had a tough time today battling youths in Kano who had mobilised to stone President Muhammadu Buhari’s chopper hovering over them.

The president was in town to inaugurate projects but the youths, as it were, were not too pleased to see him, hence their action

A report in Punch said security men who had lined the route on on Ahmadu Bello Way.

had a difficult time contending with the youths.

The report added that the president was conveyed in the chopper to a number of places including Hotoro and the Emir’s palace.

The President’s Chopper was parked at the Emir’s palace, from where he proceeded to Kumbotso LGA to unveil the 10 megawatts solar power project.

He also paid homage to Emir Aminu Ado Bayero before driving in a convoy to commission Galaxy Backbone Limited Project, during which there were minor skirmishes with the youths, who were stoning Buhari’s chopper with stones of various sizes from a distance.

Though registering their grievance, they were also wary of the security men who provided adequate cover for the president.

Among other things commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari were the bridge at the Hotoro roundabout in the Kano metropolis and the three-step interchange which was financed through an N8 billion bank loan stretches between Kano bypass road and Kano-Maiduguri road and is named after President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President who was accompanied by Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Chairman of the NSIA Board of Directors, also commissioned the 10 Megawatt Kano Solar Power Project funded by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority with the sum of $16m.
