Okonkwo particularly remembered a situation in the recent past when he was hospitalized and could not help himself.

He spent ample time thanking one of his Personal Aides (PA), Rev Monday whom he said rose to the occasion when he could not do anything to help himself.

Okonkwo who spoke at the headquarters church of TREM during his thanksgiving service graced by an impressive crowd of dignitaries and members, added: “As I sat down there, I said, thank God it wasn’t a one minute silence because I remember what I went through two three years ago.

“When the devil breaks in, except God helps you, there’s no way you would make it. I know what I went through but for God” said Okonkwo who was one-time national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and also Vice Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)

Fondly called Big Daddy by the congregation, he decried the fact that oftentimes, Christians forget the things that God does for them, including keeping them alive, saying they should value life, healthy living and other graces of God by being thankful.

“I want to specially thank Rev Monday Rev. Monday Ojo-Uwuigbe. He saw it all; he was with me when I was in hospital, and I was helpless and couldn’t do anything to help myself”

Okonkwo continued: “Thank you Rev Monday for taking care of me, a lot of things I couldn’t do for myself but you ensured that I was comfortable

“Sometimes, our travels are unannounced but you would be ready. Only God can help me to say thank you for what you and your wife did for me”, Bishop Okonkwo said.
