Remo Community Thrown Into Confusion As Man Beheads 84-Year-Old Elder
Ipara community in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun has been thrown into confusion following the beheading of an 84-year-old elder by a suspected mentally challenged man.
Reports obtained by The Eagle reveal the suspect, identified as David Shodola, 32, reportedly beheaded his victim on Friday morning,
He also ended up dead as he violently resisted arrest and attacked police officers with a machete.
Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omotola Odutola, who confirmed the incident on Friday evening, said a distress call from an unnamed informant prompted Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Bankole Isara Eluyeru to lead some officers to the scene.

According to her, the suspect fiercely resisted arrest as he used “the machete on the DPO and his men.” The team succeeded “in neutralising the suspect and recovering a weapon from him,” she affirmed.
The police spokesperson, however, asserted that there was “no recount of the suspect being a madman from the intelligence the police gathered.”
