A giant monitoring lizard is not something you would want to sight in normal settings.
Aside its somewhat scarring sight, it could depict some other omnious things, especially when such Monitoring Lizard had been deployed by a prophet.
These obviously played out in the minds of neigbours when one such self-proclaimed prophet resorted to unconventional means to evade rent payment for six months.
Madzibaba Simbarashe Comrade Chinyanga allegedly resorted to charms and even used a live monitoring lizard to intimidate his landlord whenever his rent was due, according to Zambian Observer.
Even when, out of fear and frustration the landlord then sought assistance from a neighbor, prophet Madzibaba Simbarashe still went ahead to assault and intimidate him.
The landlord had no option than to report the matter to the police, which encouraged the residents to step into the matter.

They not only confronted Madzibaba Chinyanga, demanding the police to investigate his trade, they collaborated to remove his belongings from the property and ultimately evicted him.
Not only was Madzibaba Chinyanga’s wife also compelled to relocate their belongings, she was forced to find alternative accommodation.
The prophet was later detained at St Mary’s Police Station on charges of assault, providing a level of breather for both landlord and other tenants.
The report cites a concerned neighbor expressing the community’s desire to see the prophet leave the neighbourhood.
They accused him of using false prophecies to divide families, thus labelling him a witch doctor instead of a servant of God.

“He wasn’t paying rent, taking advantage of having powers to cause misfortune to his landlord since he is young following the death of his parents. We do not want him anymore in our area because he has divided a number of families with falsehoods,” said one neighbour.
Another neighbour revealed that Madzibaba Chinyanga had allegedly torn her mattress, attributing it to a goblin and charging her a hefty sum of US$200. She subsequently filed a fraud case against him.
