PRINCE ADENIKINJU: Medals For Outstanding Service
All roads led to the Jojoin Hotel in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, last June 3. Reason was because an array of distinguished personalities from within and without the state were slated for honours and awards, by a media platform, Heroes magazine and among these was high-flying chairman of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Prince, George Adenikinju, the executive.
George got the coveted trophy of Ondo state Outstanding Chairman of the Year, for his sterling efforts in transforming the local government and there were indeed an impressive collage of and there numerous projects and programmes to cite for his recognition.
In fact, the man of blue blood, had to his credit, completed a number of impressive projects and these include:
-20 lock-up shots at Sabo market
-32 shopping complexes buildings completed at Panapanaldiere, to be named Aketi Shopping comples
-Over 150 shops completed and several others ongoing at Sabo market, Ore to be named Aketi market;
-repair of local government vehicles that had been abandoned for the past 6-7 years
-Renovation of the administration offices ceiling and the office of supervisor for works
-Purchase and donation of 2 laptops and generators to the local government
-Renovation of Treasurers office
-Renovation of the Chairman’s car
-Rebuilding of local government secretariat fence.
-Empowerment of party members and the National Youths Corps members
IT was not a surprise therefore when accolades for Adenikinju, the man of blue blood began to flow:
For example, the Arowolo Group of Companies observed: “Your laudable antecedents and the ground record-breaking achievements as the chairman, Odigbo LG of the state are positive testimonies. You have inspired us with your doggedness, total commitment, transparency and accountability in the discharge of your duties. We can only but join your teeming well-wishers to congratulate you”.
From the Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon Tunji Ifabiyi, came the following felicitations: “”you had the passion, and you had an ambition, you truly deserved every bit of the success you have achieved””.
In the words of aides from the office of the local government came the following felicitations: “Luck follows a righteous regime of rewarding people with what they truly deserve. All your hard work, dedication, commitment to work and persistence has paid off. You deserve this wonderful opportunity, congratulations”.
In the words of Pastor Soluade Adenikinju came the following: “Congratulations on your award. Great opportunities are received by great people. But also, with great opportunities come greater responsibility”.
