Police Escort Vehicles Ram Into Commercial Bus After Taking Wrong Way

BY ESTHER OLAIFA
A commercial bus driver and his lone passenger bound for Berger in the Ojodu area of Lagos are still thanking their God after escaping alive in an accident involving a commercial bus and two police escort vehicles.
The accident happened at about 10 this morning between the Mobil Fuel Station and Car Wash bus stop, outward Ogba, by the traffic junction.
The commercial bus popularly known as Korope, had just been passed by the LASTMA official controlling the traffic, only to come face to face with the two police vehicles who were speeding on one way.
It was the first one which number our reporter could not immediately ascertain, that hit the Korope in front, damaging it severely, but sped off. It was followed by the second escort vehicle in police colours with the number AKD70GD, who was still shouting at the commercial driver, to “pack well” so he too could pass.

The accident was in a jiffy and bystanders were suprised at the attitude of the policemen, but much more disappointed that the LASTMA officials, who were five in number could do nothing to stop them.
