‘Pay N28m Ransom Or We Will Kill These 52 Captives’; that is the threat currently before the village head of a community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Kware community in particular, it was invaded some weeks ago by Boko Haram terrorists who successfully made away with no fewer than 52 of its members.

Now, the insurgents are asking the community to cough out a N28m Ransom , if it wants its people back.

The lot of the community is principally worsened by the fact that it is proximate to the expansive Sambisa Forest, which has for a long time now, remained a safe haven for the Boko Haram terrorists.

The Eagle reports that that attack on the community cost about 11 lives, as well as the destruction of living homes

With the development, life has indeed remained precarious for the community, even as many of the victims of the kidnaps have been women and children.

Palpable fear continues to reign in the community, in the absence of an assurance from the authorities that the insurgents would be checkmated in a short while.

The only optinon now left for the village Head of Kwapre, Joel Kulaha, is to send a Save-Our-Soul plea to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Adamawa State Governor, Alhaji Fintiri, to come to the rescue of the people.

For now, raising the N28m Ransom is challenging for the village, compared with the fear that have continued to pervade there.

The royal fathers called on the Governor to do everything possible towards securing the release of their relations, saying that their situation calls for concern and immediate intervention.

The World Food Programme has raised concerns of the persisint conflict in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states affecting lives to the point of exposing 3.4 million people to acute hunger and 300.000 children from acute malnutrition.

“Violence and insecurity are causing mass movements of people, with 1.75 million living in camps or host communities within Nigeria and tens of thousands seeking refuge in neighbouring countries, including Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
