Orits Wiliki, Daddy Showky, Opa Williams, Others Weep As Ras Kimono Is Buried

It was wailing galore today at Onicha-Olona, the country home of the late legendary reggae singer, Ras Kimono, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, where his burial took place.

Among those who could not hold down their tears were Orits Wiliki; while the likes of Opa Williams, Daddy Showky, Buchi, Yellow Man, Righteous Man, Candy Sea and Bright Chimezie also wore gloomy faces.

The burial witnessed an unprecedented crowd of sympathisers and these included, not just music artistes but politicians, entertainers, friends and well wishers.

Ras Kimono, whose real name is Augustine Oseloke Onwubuya, died June 10, 2018, at the age of 60, after posting an impressive run as an entertainer of note.

The casket carrying the remains of the popular musician was designed and dressed in Rastafarian colours as relatives, colleagues, and fans trooped to have a glimpse of him before being finally committed to mother earth.

His body was interred at exactly 3.20pm.

Many of his relatives and colleagues including Orits Wiliki sobbed uncontrollably during the ceremony. Many of the sympathisers equally dressed in Ras Kimono’s famous reggae colour.

A cleric of the Asaba Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Ven. Dr. Ogom Josiah, who gave the final prayer for the late musician, said he touched many lives with his talent. He charged sympathisers who thronged the community to use their talents in the service of God and mankind.
