Omokri Reacts To Pastor Adeboye’s Stance On People Not Paying Tithe

The video of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, released a week ago, saying people who do not pay tithe will not make heaven, caused a serious commotion on the internet.

The video generated a lot of reactions on social media with many Nigerians, particularly Christians, asking if that is what the bible really says.

In an obvious response to Pastor Adeboye’s statement, the media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) via his twitter handle, wrote:

The only qualification Jesus gave for entry to heaven is that you should be born again then born of water and the spirit. No pastor can set a financial qualification to entering heaven. Paying tithes has nothing to do with entering heaven. Such pastors should read 1 Timothy 6:5-6″
