Reno Omokri and Pastor Adeboye
The video of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, released a week ago, saying people who do not pay tithe will not make heaven, caused a serious commotion on the internet.
The video generated a lot of reactions on social media with many Nigerians, particularly Christians, asking if that is what the bible really says.
Watch the video below:
In an obvious response to Pastor Adeboye’s statement, the media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) via his twitter handle, wrote:
“The only qualification Jesus gave for entry to heaven is that you should be born again then born of water and the spirit. No pastor can set a financial qualification to entering heaven. Paying tithes has nothing to do with entering heaven. Such pastors should read 1 Timothy 6:5-6″
