Information reaching theeagle.com.ng is that protesters on Wednesday morning invaded the Senate floor of the National Assembly, thereby seizing the mace.
The mace is the symbol of authority in the parliament.
The protesters are believed to be supporter of a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Omo-Agege was suspended for accusing his colleagues of working against President Muhammadu Buhari.
