Nigeria’s oneness: The Advice That PCRC Gave Nasarawa Christians

Even as the issue of Nigeria’s oneness remains on the front burner, Nasarawa Christians have received an advice on best way to assure it.

The advice is coming from the Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) in the State amidst the celebration of this year’s Easter, an important event on the Christian calendar.

The PCRC told Nasarawa Christians to ensue Nigeria’s oneness by praying for the peace and unity of the country.

The Eagle reports that the committee spoke through Mr David Abuluya, state Chairman of PCRC, on Friday in Nassarawa Eggon while speaking with journalists.

“PCRC will continue to preach peace to Nigerians and beyond considering its importance to human and societal development”, he said, describing peace as priceless and non-negotiable as according to him, “No society will achieve meaningful progress and development without peace”.

Further exploring the significance of the season, he said it is to remind Christians of the victory and power over evil and death, which Jesus Christ won for them by dying on the cross and also resurrecting from the dead.

“Let’s all continue to shun sinful acts as there is life after death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ has given us hope for victory over death and evil, and also brought wellbeing to life,” he advised the Christians.

The Eagle can report that Easter is one of the most important observances in the Christian faith and is celebrated annually throughout Christendom.

It provides an opportunity for the faithful to reflect the lives they live and make amends where necessary.

Aside the spiritual significances, there are also social activities built around Easter, like reunion meetings, travels and recreation.

Communities and social groups also use the season to inaugurate or executive important welfare projects and programmes.
