Nigeria D’Tigress Basketball Player Makes All Stars Team

D’Tigress basketball team though did not lift the trophy but came back with accolades via the performance of one individual player.

A member of the Nigeria U-18 basketball player, D’Tigress, Idubamo Beggi has made history, making the all stars team of the just concluded FIBA U-18 Women’s Afrobasket final..

The 18-year-old scored 109 points across six games and was instrumental in the team’s run to the final match, in a competition that held in Mali.. .

Beggi plays for the MFM Queens basketball team, and become a big consolation for Nigerians who have hoped for a trophy.

It was however a sour story for Nigeria’s junior D’Tigress, as it suffered a 76-56 loss to the hosts, Mali in the final of the FIBA U-18 Women’s Afrobasket final.

The game held on Saturday night, with Oummou Koumare, emerging the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

She was thus instrumental to her team;s massive 31 points, four rebounds, and five steals against Nigeria.

It was a worthy outing for Mali who clinched a record ninth title at the competition

Nigeria had raised hopes at the early start winning a 5-0 run, but its fortunes tumbled afterwards.

The Malian girls came on strongly, wining all four quarters.

The won the first at 11-8, the second 18-15, the third 24-19, and the fourth quarter with a commanding 23-14.

The Malians excelled in the game, their great advantage being fast breaks, with which they outscored the Nigerian girls.

It was not a total loss for the D’Tigress team as it has qualified for the FIBA U-19 Women’s World Cup next year.
