Man Slammed 50 Years In Jail For Sealing Up Wife’s…

A man is to spend 50 years in jail after being found guilty of an act that many, just like the court has, will find reprehensible.

Reprehensible because he carried out the act on a very sensitive part of his wife’s body, his privates.

For that, James Muriuki  has been sentenced by a court in Chuka Town, Meru South, Tharaka-Nithi County, about 186 km from Nairobi city.

He was allegedly found guilty of sealing his wife’s genital part with super glue.

Mariuki. Alias Kifo, death in the local parlance, is accused thereby of causing  her grievous harm, according to Naiarobinews online, which quoted the Principal Magistrate, Njoki Kahara as saying.

“The man has been found guilty of committing the offence. He caused grievous harm to the wife,” said the magistrate.

Apparently, Kifo himself is afraid of death, for after allegedly committing the offence, he went to hide in the house of one James Murogi believed to practice witchcraft.

That was where he was arrested by men of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on when the incident happened.

The man allegedly lured his wife from their home in Tharaka Nithi to a nearby river and assaulted her after accusing her of infidelity.

Once at the river, police said, he ordered his wife to strip and threatened to kill her while demanding that she reveal if she had been unfaithful.

“She hesitated and he started beating her while threatening to kill her with a knife,” a police report states.

“At last she removed her clothes and the suspect sprayed pepper, salt and super glue on her private parts while using a knife to push it.”, the report said.

The Eagle reports that incidents of the above nature, had made Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to up their campaign for closer focus on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) not only in Kenya but also in Nigeria.

Even sending the alleged culprit to 50 years in jail is believed by many to unlikely arrest the tendency
