The authorities have already refused to allow the game to start at 5.30 p.m. local time due to worries about possible unrest during the fixture. The decision to start it at 12.30 p.m. instead has infuriated Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The German has taken aim at his players’ lack of preparation time, but Kyle Walker, a defender for Manchester City, has responded by saying he’s feeling sharp.

Manchester City boss Guardiola has the edge on Klopp when it comes to Premier League encounters between his team and Liverpool. Guardiola has won five of the 14 meetings between the two managers, while Klopp has only won four.

The outcome of the title battle at the end of the season may be influenced by the game on Saturday.
