Man Arrested For Throwing Missile at Halaand During Manchester Derby 

A man was arrested for throwing an unknown object towards Erling Haaland at Old Trafford after the striker opened the scoring in the Manchester derby.

The BBC reported that a 34-year-old man was taken into custody for reportedly hurling an unidentified object at Erling Haaland at Old Trafford after the Norwegian striker scored the first goal in Sunday’s Manchester derby.

The man was taken into custody at 17:00 GMT and subsequently freed on bond, according to the police. The player was not hit by the unidentified object that Stretford End threw at the Manchester City star.

The former Borussia Dortmund player said, following the match, that when he celebrated his first goal, United supporters were making fun of him by chanting Roy Keane’s name. The jeers were directed towards Keane’s horrifying tackle of Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, that transpired in a 2001 Manchester derby.

Keane was sent off for the challenge, and Alf-Inge had knee surgery after that. He played for City for a very short time before retiring.

The former City player undoubtedly relished the derby on Sunday, having witnessed his son score twice and set up Phil Foden‘s goal as Manchester City won the trophy.
