Makinde Updates Situation Report On COVID-19 In Oyo

When it comes to providing regular updates on efforts at containing corona virus, Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde stands different.

This has continued to enhance his profile amongst his people, as he announced that one patient of COVID 19 had been discharged from the Oyo isolation centre.

He made this statement through his Twitter handle from his home to the populace as part of the regular updating on the pandemic in the state amid lockdown.

His Excellency added that added that this brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to six while another suspected case has been transferred to Lagos State.

Moreover, the state received a donation of 2,000 kits for the testing of COVID-19 donated by well-meaning people.

The donor team was led by one Mrs Idowu Awosika.

This is coming amidst the governor informing that the state planned to start a general test that will commence as from this week for the people of the State.

Gov Makinde used the opportunity to thank some organisations that have rallied round the state in the wake of the pandemic, and these he mentioned to include Dominion Pizza and Chicken Republic.

He had also said that the State was not announcing a lockdown across contrary to the belief in some quarters that follow the lead of its neigbouring states.

Instead, he urged the people to adhere to the precautionary instructions of the Oyo State COVID 19 Task-Force in order to contain the pandemic.

He also urged them to continue on the path of social distancing by staying indoors.
