Love For Football Has Cost Man His Own Life

The love for football has cost a 33 year old man his life. He lost it while clearing the field for a game with his friends.

Report says a funeral had held there the day before, and Samuel Boateng and his friend needed to clear the field of canopies so their game could get underway.

That was how he met his unanticipated death.

According to Ghana Graphic, the tragedy was at a football park at Nyankyerenease near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Both Boateng and his friend, Ahmed Ampong, aged 27 were working on the canopies not knowing it had got in contact with high tension electricity pole when they were electrocuted

Sympathisers had rushed the two to hospital but while Ampong survived, Boateng could not make it.

“Whilst lifting one of the canopies the edge touched a high-tension electricity pole nearby which electrocuted two of them. They were rushed to the hospital but Samuel Boateng died whilst on admission,” the newspaper quotes police report as saying.

“The body has been deposited at the KATH morgue for preservation and autopsy whilst Ahmed Ampong is responding to treatment”, Suntreso District Sitrep said.

Meanwhile, Love For Football story, controversy has continued to rage over comments by controversial pastor, Nana Agradaa over the comment on footballer Christian Atsu’s death.

Nana Agradaa, now Mama Pat, February 19 delivered a controversial message saying most footballers use juju, and had the late Atsu known God that he would have survived the earthquake.

One of many who took exceptions to the view was popular female gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah.

She said Nana Agradaa should have died instead of Atsu, describing her comments as inconsiderate at a time an entire nation was mourning.

“You are the one with a fraudulent nature and the habit of stealing and swindling others. Can you say that the houses you built were from a good source? You built those houses with monies from defrauding and stealing from others. Keep quiet I don’t want to vent out, so shut up!”, Evangelist Diana Asamoah said.
