Kwahu Easter: No Public Sex Or …Priestess Warns

The annual Easter celebrations at the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region of Ghana popularly known as Kwahu Easter would be dramatically different this year,

For one, it would not entertain any form of public sexual activity in public places.

This is the stern warning from the lips of the traditional spiritual leader, Okomfo Akosua Dedeaa.

The Eastern Regional head of the Association of Priests, said growing reports of inappropriate behaviour during festive periods are becoming a source of concern and that it would no longer be tolerated.

She said public places like markets, schools, drinking spots and streets must not be for public sex in the name of Kwahu Easter.

According to her,  such is against the against the accepted cultural norms and moral standards of the area and those who go against it may not go scot-free.

The repercautions, she said would be both socially and spiritually.

The Eagle reports that activities characterise the Kwahu Easter include visits to the Kwahu Hills itself,  paragliding, hiking, carnivals and street jams.

It also provides opportunities for homecoming for those who had been away from home and social bonding.
