Kovacic Reveals The Best Coach In The World
Mateo Kovacic has hailed Pep Guardiola as the best coach in the world after working two weeks with him at Manchester City.
The Croatian midfielder cost £25 million (€29 million/$31 million) to join Man City from Chelsea this summer and has played in both of the European champions’ two preseason friendlies against Yokohama F Marinos and Bayern Munich.

Guardiola’s ideas are on a different level, according to Kovacic, who enjoys working with Guardiola at City.
Speaking to reporters, the midfielder said, “I’m only here for two weeks now, but you can see straight away that he has great ideas. It is on another level. I think he is the best coach in the world.”
Ilkay Gundogan, who departed the team for Barcelona this summer, was replaced on a like-for-like basis by Kovacic.
The 29-year-old midfielder started the English champions’ 2-1 victory against Bayern Munich and made a substitute appearance in the club’s 5-3 victory over Yokohama F Marinos.
The next game for Guardiola’s team will take place on Sunday in Seoul against Atletico Madrid in a preseason friendly.
