The German international, 28, is bound to the Bavarian club till 2025. Given their interest in Fulham star Joao Palhinha and 22-year-old French midfielder Manu Kone, Thomas Tuchel may decide to move the seasoned player.

Bayern were very close to signing the Portuguese midfielder from Fulham on the deadline day of the summer transfer window but the Premier League giants stopped the move at the last moment as they could not sign an alternative. The midfielder later went on to sign a contract extension with the club.

Xavi’s team will be looking to bounce back from a shocking Champions League loss to Shakhtar Donetsk when they play Alaves in La Liga on Sunday.
