Kidnappers of a Deeper Life Pastor, Otamayomi Ogedengbe, have demanded a ransom payment of N30m.before he would be released.

Reports indicate that the kidnappers eventually established contact with the family of the family on Wednesday whereupon they made the demand.

Pastor Ogedengbe is a retired director in the state Ministry of Education, and a family member told the journalist that the kidnappers refused yielding grounds in terms of their demand.of N30m

Aside the amount being demanded, family members are concerned of the health status of the victim. Pastor Ogedengbe was abducted on Monday evening after conducting Bible study at Irese area of Akure.

Narrating the incident, his wife, Yinka, said the kidnappers shot into the air ostensibly to scare people before taking him away.

There was no report of any rescue attempt either by sympathizers or security agents, and family memners are anxious of the welfare of the clergyman especially given what has been described as his fragile health status. She said her husband health status is fragile.

The kidnap of Pastor Ogedengbe happened on Monday evening at the church premises.

A member of the church who confirmed his abduction said the abductors came in a black Corolla car.

“He was kidnapped inside the church. They came with a black Corolla sport car. They took only him away,” he said.

Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the abduction and said investigation has commenced.

Early last month, kidnappers had taken a family of five from Ajowa Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Sources said the victims were on their way to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, when the incident happened.

In a related but worse incident, a 50-year-old Lagos-based clergyman, Frederick Aramuwa, abducted along Ipele to Idoani/Ifira road in Ondo State was found dead after his family paid N2 million ransom to his kidnappers.

Reports show that the deceased had left Lagos for his home town in lfira Akoko, Ondo State with his driver for the Easter festivity before the kidnap.
