JAMB Gives 17-Day Ultimatum To UTME 2026 Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given a 17-day ultimatum to candidates to its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME 2026)

It has said that ongoing registration for the exam would close on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with no possibility of an extension.

The board gave the information in its weekly bulletin released on Monday.

“This recurring pattern, where candidates deliberately wait until the last minute and subsequently agitate for an extension, will not be entertained.

“JAMB is fully aware of these deliberate tactics and has factored them into its planning.

“There will be no extension of the registration period,” the Board said, adding that those banking on a possible extension would be disappointed.

Reminding that the 2026 UTME registration commenced on Monday, January 26, 2026, it added that about one million candidates have already indicated interest in the examination.

Many others, on the other hand, who have procured their ePINs were expected to complete their registration promptly.

Reiterating it would not shift UTME 2026 entrance examination, it added:

“Any extension would disrupt this coordinated schedule and encroach on timelines already allocated to other national examinations”.
