Jadon Sancho Reacts To ‘Unbelievable’ UCL Final Run

Jadon Sancho, who assisted Borussia Dortmund in eliminating Paris Saint-Germain, describes his experience as “unbelievable” after making it to the Champions League final.

Dortmund advanced to their third Champions League final on Tuesday night after eliminating PSG at the semi-final stage with a 2-0 aggregate victory. Last week, Sancho gave a magnificent performance in their 1-0 home leg victory and contributed in the second leg to further add drama to an unpredictable season for the 24-year-old. Following the triumph, the England international embraced this accomplishment on social media.

After posting a picture of him celebrating his side’s victory, along with a team photo basking in their triumph, he wrote on Instagram: “Champions League Final! Wow wow wow, Unbelievable! @bvb09 🖤💛 WEMBLEY HERE WE COME! 🔥.”

Sancho was working out with Manchester United’s under-18 team earlier in the season following a disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag. The winger, who was sent on loan to Dortmund in January, is making an impression for his former team once more following a sluggish start. After proving to be somewhat of a bust since his £73 million ($85 million) arrival to Old Trafford in 2021, the former Manchester City academy product may never play for United again, but he is now only one victory away from making history at Dortmund.

In the first leg, Sancho was the Bundesliga team’s main offensive weapon; yet, in Paris, he was able to neutralise Kylian Mbappe, no less. Sancho recorded seven ball recoveries and six possessions earned in the defensive and middle thirds as he and right-back Julian Ryerson combined to deny the Frenchman to only five shots. Sancho also had the best forward passing percentage (63.64) on the field, which allowed him to release pressure on his teammates.
