Revealed: Why Osimhen May Reject PSG In Favour Of Chelsea Or Arsenal
Victor Osimhen, Napoli striker, is apparently prepared to turn down a move to Paris Saint-Germain in favour of a Premier League transfer.
The Nigerian international will depart Napoli at the end of the current campaign, according to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, despite having signed a new deal with the team in December that included a release clause worth approximately £113 million ($144 million). Osimhen, 25, has been linked to PSG, Chelsea, and Arsenal. However, Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claims that Osimhen would prefer to play in the Premier League the following season as opposed to going back to Ligue 1.

To sweeten a possible deal, Napoli are reportedly in talks with Chelsea over a cash-plus-player transfer; with Romelu Lukaku possibly moving to the Serie A outfit on top of the Blues forking out a big fee for Osimhen. The former Lille man is also said to be more excited over joining an English top-flight side rather than the Ligue 1 champions.
Osimhen moved from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a then-club record amount of £60 million ($75.2 million). In 131 games, he has scored 76 goals, and in the 2022–2023 season, he led them to Serie A glory – the club’s first league title in 33 years.
While transfer talks are still ongoing behind closed doors, Osimhen’s Napoli team plays Serie A action on Saturday against Bologna. The team then concludes the season on May 19 and 26 against Fiorentina and Lecce, respectively.
