There is no better way to describe it than a successful Friday operation, which not only netted 46 of them, but also recovery of both dangerous weapons and illicit drugs.
The dangerous weapons included 1 UTC cutlass and 1 dane gun- a metal object fabricated in the form of a pistol but incapable of firing live ammunition.
The successful Friday operation was that of the Lagos State Taskforce on the Environment aimed at cleaning up the city by ridding it of criminals and criminalities.
The haul included street urchins, miscreants, drug addicts, peddlers and illegal commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada riders.
Others who fell into the taskforce net were street traders, illegal ticketers, and other criminal elements, in an operation that took off at about 9am
The operation touched Muri-Okunola Park, V.I; Obalende Underbridge; Law School Junction; Maroko; Sandfill by Mobil Bus-stop; and Marwa Bus-stop along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

A total of 46 suspects were arrested, with dangerous exhibits such as a dane gun, other dangerous objects and narcotic drugs.

A release by the taskforce’s Director Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem stated that substances suspected to be Indian Hemp, Colorado, and Cannabis, were confiscated in the operation and that normalcy has been restored in all the areas visited.
“All arrested suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017 and the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018”, he informed.
Speaking today at the Agency Headquarters, the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Adetayo Akerele said that the agency would not give any breathing space to criminal elements in the State, as the unit remain committed to sustaining the enforcement operations across the State.
