Following his brace for Inter Miami in their 5-0 win over Orlando City on Saturday, Suarez said: “Yes I saw [the goal]. I am so happy for Liverpool and I am so happy for Darwin. He is one of the best strikers in the world today.”

Nunez has received criticism for his goal-scoring tendencies and performances while at Liverpool, but he still has 14 goals and 11 assists this season. He has shown himself to be a crucial component of the Reds’ attempt to capture a historic quadruple.

In the CONCACAF Champions Cup, Suarez’s Miami team plays Nashville in a round of 16 first-leg match on Friday, while Nunez’s Liverpool team plays Sparta Praha away in the Europa League on Thursday.
